We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at FusionHit and work with our client, a leading company in the insurance industry. This role is ideal for a project management professional who can seamlessly manage a combination of US-based and offshore teams, focusing on improving project management processes, driving collaboration, and fostering continuous improvement. The successful candidate will help establish consistency in project methodologies and manage risks, budgets, and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create and maintain clear project management methods, tools, and templates so everyone’s on the same page.

  • Foster a collaborative environment where everyone knows their role and feels empowered to contribute.

  • Work with stakeholders to create project budgets and keep a close eye on spending. Flag any potential overruns to leadership.

  • Identify, assess, and tackle project risks, keeping everyone informed and escalating issues when needed.

  • Keep a close eye on project metrics (timelines, budget, quality, etc.) and use data to find ways to improve.

  • Drive process improvements and be a champion for better project management practices, bringing innovation and efficiency.

  • Take charge of initiatives with outside vendors, especially those in the early stages, and keep them moving forward.

  • Join ongoing projects, work closely with current PMs, and take full ownership when the time is right.

  • Make sure projects are delivered on time, raising any red flags early on.

  • Monitor and control project budgets, give regular updates to the CFO, and make sure you’re sticking to the financial plan.

  • Review and approve invoices from outside vendors to make sure everything is accurate.

  • Help teams in the US and offshore communicate and work together effectively.

  • Actively participate in the company’s transformation, helping to create and implement new project management processes and tools.

The Ideal Candidate Has: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.

  • 8+ years of experience managing complex projects, preferably in the insurance or related industries. Experience with both US-based and offshore teams is essential.

  • Hands-on experience leading projects from inception to completion, demonstrating strong project planning, risk management, and communication skills.

  • Proficient in using Jira and Confluence, as well as Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Experience with risk management tools is a plus

  • Strong leadership and communication skills. 

  • Familiarity with various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and frameworks for continuous improvement.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Kanban is highly desirable

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal (C1 level).

  • Ability to work during Pacific Time Zone business hours.

  • A basic understanding of technology to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with technical teams.
