Who we are

Software that has to hold on the busiest day of the year

Retail software is judged in November. The rest of the year you can work around a slow integration or a manual step, and then one weekend arrives where every one of them costs real money.

FusionHit builds commerce and store systems with senior engineers across Latin America who have been through a peak season and know what breaks first. They work US Central and Eastern hours, so load testing, a freeze decision or an incident during your trading day happens with the team that wrote the code.

WHAT WE BUILD

Retail systems we build

The systems our clients bring us most often, each one built around the channels, the store and the stock behind them.

Ecommerce and storefronts

Custom storefronts and the work around a commerce platform: checkout, promotions and the parts your team keeps having to work around.

Order management

One view of an order across web, store and marketplace, with the sourcing, split and return logic that makes it true.

Inventory and merchandising

Stock accuracy across locations, allocation and replenishment, and the product data everything else reads from.

Point of sale and store operations

Store applications, tasks and clienteling, built for the hardware on the counter and for staff turnover.

Customer apps and loyalty

Apps, loyalty and the account experience that has to look the same in store and online.

Integrations across the stack

Commerce platform, ERP, POS, payments, tax, shipping and marketplaces, connected so numbers match everywhere.

Retail analytics

Margin, sell-through and stock position reported on data your systems already produce.

Replatforming and modernization

Moving off a platform or a custom system that has stopped keeping up, without losing a trading day.

WHO WE BUILD FOR

The retailers we build software for

Different formats, different failure modes. These are the ones our engineers already know how to work with.

Multi-store retailers

Stock, pricing and tasks across locations that each behave a little differently.

Direct to consumer brands

A storefront, a subscription or a launch model that a platform alone will not support.

Grocery and convenience

Perishables, substitutions and fulfilment windows, where inventory accuracy is the whole job.

Specialty retail

Complex products, configuration or fitting, where the sale needs more than a cart.

Wholesale and distribution

B2B ordering, pricing by customer and the ERP behind it.

Marketplace sellers

Listings, stock and orders across channels that each want their own format.

PEAK SEASON

How we work around the season your year depends on

Every vendor promises scalability. None of them tells you what they do in the eight weeks that actually matter. This is what we agree before the calendar gets close.

What we do
A freeze calendar agreed in advance

We set the code freeze date with you, usually several weeks before your peak, and what still ships during it: security fixes, configuration and content, nothing else.

Load testing against your real numbers

Tested against your own traffic and order peaks from last year plus the growth you are planning for, not a generic benchmark. The results are shared before the freeze, while there is still time to fix something.

Coverage during your trading hours

Our engineers work US Central and Eastern time. For peak weekends we agree extended coverage and an escalation path in writing, so you are not waiting for a team that starts its day when yours is ending.

A rollback plan for every release

Anything that ships close to peak has a tested way back. Feature flags where it makes sense, so a change can be turned off without a deploy.

Payments kept out of scope where possible

We design checkout so card data stays with your payment provider through tokenization or hosted fields, and we tell you when a requirement puts something back into PCI scope.

What we need from your side

Last year's traffic and order data, a named decision maker during the freeze window, and access to the monitoring you already run.

TIMELINE AND COST

What it takes to build, by system

Vendors answer this with 'it depends'. Here is what it depends on, by the kind of system, so you arrive at the first call knowing what to expect.

Typical timeline to first release
What drives the cost
Integration layer across your stack

2-4 months

Number of systems, how clean the product and customer data is, and whether the platforms expose what you need.

Custom storefront or checkout work

3-5 months

Catalogue size, promotions and pricing rules, payment and tax providers, and how much of the design is new.

Order management

5-8 months

Channels and locations, sourcing and split rules, returns, and how much of the current process is undocumented.

Store or point of sale application

4-8 months

Hardware you run, offline behaviour, number of store workflows, and the training the rollout needs.

Customer app and loyalty

4-6 months

Loyalty rules, the systems it reads from, payments, and how the account has to behave in store.

Replatforming

6-12 months

Catalogue and customer migration, integrations to rebuild, and how much can run in parallel before cutover.

HOW WE ENGAGE

Three ways to work with us

Pick the model that fits how your team runs. Plenty of clients start with one and move to another as the roadmap grows.

Staff augmentation

Senior engineers added to your existing team, under your direction. Best when you have a technical lead and need capacity or a specific skill.

Dedicated development teams

A stable team that works only on your product, with a lead on our side. Best when you want a whole workstream owned without hiring a manager for it.

Software development outsourcing

A defined scope delivered end to end under our management, for a fixed price and date. Best when the scope is clear and you want one number and one date.

FAQ

FAQs about our retail software development services

01

How much does retail software development cost?

It depends on the system. An integration layer is a different project from order management. The table on this page gives the ranges we see by system type, and after discovery you get a written scope with the cost by milestone. Senior LATAM rates typically run 30-50% below equivalent US rates.
02

How long does it take to build retail software?

Typically 2-4 months for an integration layer, 3-5 months for storefront and checkout work, 5-8 months for order management and 6-12 months for a replatform. Discovery gives you the real number for your case.
03

What do you do about peak season?

We agree a freeze date with you weeks in advance, load test against your own numbers from last year plus your growth plan, put extended coverage and an escalation path in writing for peak weekends, and make sure anything shipping close to the season can be rolled back. The section above this FAQ is what goes into the agreement.
04

Can you work with our existing commerce platform instead of replacing it?

Yes, and in most projects that is the right answer. We build around the platform you run, with a boundary agreed in discovery so a platform upgrade does not break your custom work.
05

How do you handle payments and PCI?

We design checkout so card data stays with your payment provider through tokenization or hosted fields wherever that is possible, and we tell you when a requirement puts something back into PCI scope rather than discovering it during an assessment.
06

Can you connect our store systems, ecommerce and ERP so stock is accurate?

That is one of the most common projects we take. It usually starts with agreeing what the source of truth is for product, price and stock, because most inventory problems are two systems disagreeing rather than a broken integration.
07

Do you build store applications that work when the network drops?

Yes. Store and point of sale work is built for intermittent connectivity, with local state and a sync that resolves conflicts without losing a transaction.
08

Can you scale the team before the season and release it afterwards?

Yes, and many retailers use this model exactly for that. Roles get added ahead of the peak and released when it ends, with the notice period fixed in the contract and applying both ways.
09

Who owns the code and the intellectual property?

You do. The work lives in repositories and cloud accounts under your organization, and the contract assigns all intellectual property to you from the first commit.
10

Do we hire your engineers or do you deliver the project?

Either. You can add senior engineers to your own team, have a dedicated team own the workstream with a lead on our side, or hand us a defined scope for a fixed price and date. The three models are linked above.
