Who we are

Software clinicians will actually use, built the way HIPAA requires

Healthcare software gets rejected by the people who have to use it long before it gets rejected by an auditor. A workflow that adds three clicks to a visit does not survive, no matter how well it integrates.

FusionHit builds healthcare products with senior engineers across Latin America who have worked with PHI, with HL7 and FHIR interfaces, and with the constraints a compliance officer brings to a design review. They work US Central and Eastern hours, so a clinical question gets answered while the clinic is still open.

WHAT WE BUILD

Healthcare systems we build

The systems our clients bring us most often, each one built around the clinical workflow, the data standards and the rules it has to live with.

EHR integrations and custom modules

HL7 and FHIR interfaces to Epic, Oracle Health and the rest, plus the modules your EHR was never going to give you.

Telehealth and virtual care

Video visits, scheduling, intake and documentation that fit into the visit rather than sitting beside it.

Patient portals and digital front door

Scheduling, results, messaging, forms and payments, in one place a patient can use without calling the front desk.

Revenue cycle and billing

Eligibility, coding support, claims, denials and patient billing, built to reduce the work that lands on your staff.

Care coordination and care management

Care plans, task routing and population views, so the follow-up happens without somebody keeping a private spreadsheet.

Remote patient monitoring

Device data, thresholds and alerting, with the escalation path a nurse can trust at two in the morning.

Clinical data and analytics

Pipelines, warehouses and reporting on top of clinical and claims data, built for the questions leadership actually asks.

Legacy platform modernization

Moving a clinical or administrative system off an unsupported stack, with the history intact and the workflow unchanged.

WHO WE BUILD FOR

The organizations we build healthcare software for

Different organizations, different pressures. These are the ones our engineers already know how to work with.

Hospitals and health systems

Systems that surround an EHR you are not replacing, across departments that each work differently.

Provider groups and clinics

Software that has to fit a fifteen-minute visit and a small team with no IT department.

Digital health startups

A first product that has to pass a health system's security review, not just a pitch.

Payers and health plans

Claims, member and care management systems where a data error becomes a compliance problem.

Medtech and device companies

Software around a device, where the quality process is as much a deliverable as the code.

Labs and pharmacy

Ordering, results and fulfilment systems that connect to everything else in the chain.

IN WRITING

How we work inside your HIPAA perimeter

Every provider on this search shows the same HIPAA badge. Almost none of them says how the work is actually done. This is what we put in the agreement before anyone gets access.

What the agreement says
PHI in development and testing

No production PHI in lower environments. Engineers build and test against de-identified or synthetic data, and we tell you which method we used for each dataset.

Who touches production

By default, nobody on our side. If a task genuinely needs production access, you grant it to a named engineer for a stated reason, time-boxed and logged.

The agreement itself

A Business Associate Agreement signed before work starts, with the same obligations flowing down to anyone we bring onto your account.

Where the code and the data live

In repositories and cloud accounts under your organization, in the region you choose. Your data does not get copied into our systems or onto a personal device.

How changes stay auditable

Every change goes through a ticket, a pull request and a review by a second engineer, so the record an auditor or an OCR inquiry asks for already exists.

How interoperability gets proven

HL7 and FHIR interfaces are tested against the receiving system's sandbox and validated with conformance tooling, not declared. The test results are part of acceptance.

Access, devices and offboarding

Named engineers, your identity provider, your MFA, your device policy. When someone rolls off the team, access is removed the same day and we confirm it in writing.

What we need from your side

A clinical owner who can answer workflow questions within the week, sandbox credentials for the systems we integrate with, and your security and privacy contacts from the first sprint.

TIMELINE AND COST

What it takes to build, by system

Vendors answer this with 'it depends'. Here is what it depends on, by the kind of system, so you arrive at the first call knowing what to expect.

Typical timeline to first release
What drives the cost
EHR integration or interface

2-4 months

Number of interfaces, whether the vendor gives you a sandbox, message volume, and how much of the mapping has to be built by hand.

Patient portal or digital front door

4-6 months

Identity and access for patients, the systems it reads from and writes to, payments, and accessibility requirements.

Telehealth or virtual care

4-6 months

Video and scheduling, documentation inside the visit, device and browser coverage, and the states or regions you operate in.

Revenue cycle or billing module

4-8 months

Payer mix, clearinghouse integration, coding and denial rules, and how much of the current process is undocumented.

Remote patient monitoring

5-8 months

Device types and their SDKs, alert thresholds and escalation, and the clinical review workflow behind the alerts.

Legacy platform modernization

6-12 months

Feature parity with what staff use today, data and history migration, and running both systems in parallel during cutover.

HOW WE ENGAGE

Three ways to work with us

Pick the model that fits how your team runs. Plenty of clients start with one and move to another as the roadmap grows.

Staff augmentation

Senior engineers added to your existing team, under your direction. Best when you have a technical lead and need capacity or a specific skill.

Dedicated development teams

A stable team that works only on your product, with a lead on our side. Best when you want a whole workstream owned without hiring a manager for it.

Software development outsourcing

A defined scope delivered end to end under our management, for a fixed price and date. Best when the scope is clear and you want one number and one date.

FAQ

FAQs about our healthcare software development services

01

How much does healthcare software development cost?

It depends on the system. An EHR interface is a different project from a revenue cycle module. The table on this page gives the ranges we see by system type, and after discovery you get a written scope with the cost by milestone. Senior LATAM rates typically run 30-50% below equivalent US rates.
02

How long does it take to build healthcare software?

Typically 2-4 months for an EHR integration, 4-6 months for a patient portal or telehealth product, 4-8 months for a revenue cycle module, and 6-12 months to modernize a legacy platform. Discovery gives you the real number for your case.
03

Do you sign a Business Associate Agreement?

Yes, before work starts. The same obligations flow down to anyone we bring onto your account, so there is no gap between your BAA and the people actually writing the code.
04

Do your engineers work with real patient data?

No. Development and testing run on de-identified or synthetic data, and we tell you which method was used for each dataset. If a task genuinely needs production access, you grant it to a named engineer for a stated reason, time-boxed and logged.
05

How do you handle HIPAA during development, not just in the product?

Through the engineering process. No production PHI in lower environments, named engineers under your identity provider and device policy, every change reviewed and recorded, and access removed the same day someone rolls off. The section above this FAQ is what goes into the agreement.
06

Can you integrate with Epic, Oracle Health or our existing EHR?

Yes. We build HL7 and FHIR interfaces and test them against the receiving system's sandbox with conformance tooling before acceptance. We also tell you early when an integration depends on a vendor program or approval you need to sponsor.
07

Can you support us through a security review or an audit?

Yes. We answer the questions a health system's security review or your own auditor asks about how the software is built and maintained, and we produce the change records, review history and test evidence they need.
08

Who owns the code and the intellectual property?

You do. The work lives in repositories and cloud accounts under your organization, and the contract assigns all intellectual property to you from the first commit.
09

How do you make sure clinicians will actually use it?

We map the workflow before we design anything, and the people who will use the software test each milestone. A feature that adds clicks to a visit gets caught in acceptance, not after go-live.
10

Do we hire your engineers or do you deliver the project?

Either. You can add senior engineers to your own team, have a dedicated team own the workstream with a lead on our side, or hand us a defined scope for a fixed price and date. The three models are linked above.

Ready to build healthcare software your clinicians will use?

Tell us the workflow and the systems it has to connect to, and we will come back with a scope and a plan.
